Our approach

No-one understands an area better than the people who live, work and socialise there. That is the principle behind our consultation process: we want to hear your views to help shape our proposals for an Eco-Community.

Our approach to consultation is to ensure the widest possible engagement with the community and open and honest feedback. We will be clear about what we can consult on and what we cannot. Above all, our objective is to ensure a robust, rigorous and honest consultation.

Our programme

A series of public exhibitions were held towards the end of last year, designed to illustrate to local residents what is being proposed for Rackheath.

The first exhibition took place at Rackheath Primary School on Friday, October 31st and Saturday, November 1st. More than 600 people attended over the two days and many took the opportunity to complete feedback forms expressing their views on the proposals.

There was also considerable interest and positive feedback during a separate exhibition at Castle Mall, Norwich on November 1st.

We returned in December for a follow-up exhibition at Holy Trinity Church Community Centre in Rackheath where we were able to show how the plans had progressed - and how the developers and promoters had responded to comments from the first exhibition.

Further exhibitions are anticipated this year as the public consultation process continues. Residents keen to learn more about the proposals, but unable to attend the exhibitions, are able to download copies of the display boards from this website.

Feedback from Rackheath consultation process
Everyone involved in the proposals is committed to an accessible, transparent and fair consultation process. Residents of the local parishes will be informed and updated on a regular basis.

Feedback will be carefully collated and used to produce a report for the developers. Copies of the report will also be available to local residents. This report is likely to be an integral part of any future planning application.
